About Me
Hi, I'm Sandy!
Hi! I’m Sandy Cheng, a Chinese teacher who helps learners speak Chinese through practical lessons and real-life speaking practice. Let me tell you a bit about myself so you can see if my teaching style is the right fit for you.
I was born in Hebei province, not far from Beijing. After finishing my studies, I moved to Beijing, where I spent several years teaching English before switching to teaching Chinese. Along the way, I also started making Chinese language videos on social media to help learners find fun, engaging content that makes speaking Chinese easier and more enjoyable.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to teach students from all around the world. One thing I’ve noticed is that many learners struggle to find the right environment or people to actually practice speaking Chinese. Without clear steps or guidance, it’s easy to lose motivation and give up before reaching the goal of understanding native speakers and having real conversations.
That’s why both my videos and classes focus on giving you practical speaking opportunities—fun, real-life scenarios that get you using Chinese from the very beginning. My main goal is to help you speak as much as possible, as soon as possible.

My classes are held on Google Meet, making it easy for you to join from anywhere. Each lesson is customized to your interests, needs, and current Chinese level. Before our sessions, I prepare personalized materials that match your language learning goals. During the classes, we'll focus a lot on speaking practice to build your confidence and fluency. I'll also work closely with you to tackle any language challenges you face, making sure each lesson is both productive and engaging. My goal is to make your learning experience enjoyable and effective.
What level of Chinese do I need to be at to take your 1:1 classes?
My 1:1 classes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced learners. I will tailor the lessons to match your current proficiency and learning goals.
What level of Chinese do I need to be at to take your beginner group class?
These beginner group classes are perfect if you’re just starting out with Chinese. Don’t worry if you’ve never studied it before—this course is made with absolute beginners in mind.
What kind of support can I expect from you between lessons?
